Things 7 married women wish to tell their single self

Getting married is a big step in a person’s life since a lot of things change after it. It is all about teamwork and there is no place for only “I” after you start your life with your spouse. Marriage teaches us a lot of things including sacrifice, compassion, partnership, among many other things. In addition, it changes us as a person and brings out the many shades of our personality that we didn’t even know about. In light of this, here is a look at things 7 married women wish to tell their single self.

1. You do not need to be perfect

“All the time I spent trying to be perfect, although sometimes fun, was not necessary. Life is not about perfect hair, perfect face, perfect body, or perfect life. My husband loves me both with and without any of these things. If I am happy, he is happy. If I am sad, he is sad. It would have been nice to know this back then when I was struggling to find a partner. The right guy loves you for who you are.”
2. The right guys don’t care about insignificant stuff
My husband doesn’t care that sometimes I want to be a glamorous girl and other times I just want to sit in my pajamas the whole day. He doesn’t care if my toes are polished or whether I have waxed my hands or not. All he cares about is that I am happy, healthy, and in love with him. I wish that I had some confirmation while single that I will find a man like this someday.”

3. Relish every single second
“Though I love my husband and my married life, I am nostalgic about the single days – girls’ night, spending money however I wanted, only worrying about me. But one day a guy will sweep you off your feet and you won’t be able to do all this again! You can’t have it back, so live it to the fullest.”

4. Always choose quality over quantity
“Having a few good female friends when you are single becomes even more important when you are married because it gets harder to meet them frequently. If I had known back then that I don’t need a squad of friends but only a few of them who actually care about me, things would have been much easier. To all the single ladies – search for good friends before you worry about having a ton of them.”

5. The guy that makes the effort is always worth it

“Be clear about the fact that the guy that makes the effort for you is worth your time, and the guy that doesn’t is not. No positive outcome comes from spending your time with someone who isn’t worthy of it. You will only get hurt, and he will continue to think that he can act this way and get away with it.”

6. Your wishes can come true

“As a single woman, I used to wish for a guy who would fall crazy in love with me and would do all of the things no other guy ever did. Well, I got it, and my life is totally different than what I expected. So don’t stop wishing and don’t stop dreaming. Who knows what’s in store for you?”

7. Don’t be afraid to be you

“You are awesome and don’t need to change anything about yourself. I wish I could give a hug to my single self and tell her that she is great and some guy will recognize that one day. To all the single ladies reading this, please know who you are is enough!”
