Pakistan’s Ghulam Sarwar makes sugar-free mangoes for Diabetic people

Normally, mango varieties like Chaunsa and Sindhri have 12 to 15 percent of sugar and can’t be consumed by diabetic patients, but his farm has three varieties of mango named Sonaro, Glenn, and Keitt which have 5.6 percent, 6 percent, and 4.7 percent, respectively.

M H Panhwar’s nephew Ghulam Sarwar made modifications in the techniques used to grow the fruit and conducted several experiments to control the sugar content in the fruit. Mr. Panhwar had been conferred Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for his research on fruits like mangoes and bananas.
