Lee has become the latest star to join the cast that comprises of Korean stars like Park Hae Soo who will play Berlin, Jeon Jong Seo as Tokyo, Lee Won Jong as Moscow, Kim Ji Hoon as Denver, Jang Yoon Joo as Nairobi, Kim Ji Hoon as Helsinki, Lee Kyu Ho as Oslo and Yoo Ji Tae as the Professor.
According to Soompi, Lee Hyun Woo will be playing the role of Rio. In a statement, Woo said, “I’m excited to be greeting viewers through a drama for the first time in a while. I’ll do my best to create a cool, memorable character and an appealing production for those who are anticipating the Korean remake of ‘Money Heist.’”
It was previously reported that the Korean adaptation of ‘Money Heist’ will be directed by Kim Hong-sun, who has helmed TV dramas like ‘The Guest” and ‘Voice’.
Ryu Yong-jae and his team, whose credits include the series ‘My Holo Love’ and ‘Psychopath Diary’, will pen the 12-episode show.
Alex Pina, creator and executive producer of ‘Money Heist’, said he is looking forward to seeing the show from the Korean point of view

“That is why I find it fascinating that the world of ‘La Casa de Papel’ is so attractive to Korean creators as to do an adaptation. The fact that the action is set on the Korean Peninsula also seems to me to be a milestone which I am really delighted about,” Pina said in a statement on PTI.
