The filmmaker reveals that the actress did a lot of homework before she arrived on sets. Tewari said, “We got lots of BBC videos and other clips for Lara to see so she could get the body language and poise right in order to get into the skin of the character. Once she was on sets and her first take was done, she had managed to be pitch-perfect.”
In a recent chat with ETimes, make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad had revealed that Lara’s Indira Gandhi make-up used to take two-three trials every time before the shoot started. He had explained, “Indiraji has three prominent features – eyebrows, nose, and a face cut, along with a hairstyle. If you see, we have changed the shape and style of Lara’s eyebrows to make them look more dominant. We have done prosthetics on the nose. We made a nose that is similar to Indiraji’s and applied it to Lara. The wig was also worked out in fine detail to carry the texture, style, color, and combination of gray hair. Also, the wrinkles have been created with a lot of shading work.”
