In a recent interview with a comic book portal she revealed that the fantasy genre has always excited her. “I grew up reading fantasy fiction, so I know that’s not the same as the actual comic book itself, but that was where my imagination lived,” she explained. Speaking about what compelled her to sign the show she said, “I just think what they’re doing right now is so exciting and so cool, and so on the cutting edge of it,” She added, “To be part of that family feels like, ‘Oh my god, I’m in the cool kid crowd. That’s so cool.”
Like most people of her generation, Emilia professed her love for Spider-Man, too. She added that Spider-Man was probably the first ever origin story that she ever read and she found it “pretty cool”. She remembered being really excited at how detailed the Marvel writing was in the comics. Her reaction being, “Oh wow, this is more than what’s on the page. This is a bigger world.”
Marvel has had a lot of success off late with ‘WandaVision’ and ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’. ‘Secret Invasion’ still has a long way to release, it will probably come out next year, but the anticipation, especially among fans of the production house, is going to probably keep the buzz alive.
Meanwhile, Clarke is turning her passion for comic books into an original comic book called ‘M.O.M: Mother of Madness’, the first issue of which will be released on July 21.
