With the COVID-19 vaccines, there are usually a lot of mandates and do’s and don’ts to be followed. In the earlier months, when immunization had just been started, it was strongly believed that any other vaccination should be deferred when one’s getting the COVID-19 vaccine. However, with more clarity and research being made available, expert bodies, including the Centres of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have also clarified that it is absolutely safe and worry-free to get both the vaccine doses around the same time, and going for double vaccination will not harm the body in any manner.
Generally, it is advised that people eligible for vaccination to space their vaccine shots at least two weeks apart so that there could be no contradictions or excessive reactions that take place. However, now with need arising, experts opine that getting the shots together may offer no possible risks as well, and would be safe to do so.
